A ready-to-list floor plan, no laser meter or designer needed: this is exactly what creating a 2D plan with IACrea allows by combining an iPhone Pro scan with edits on the website. The process is done during a visit you're already making; the deliverable arrives for the property within minutes.
What you'll learn in this guide:
- Where to find the option to create a 2D plan from the app
- How to scan a floor
- Why to make one plan per floor
- Where to find the plan on the website and how to edit walls, doors, and surfaces
Before You Start: Equipment and Preparation
The 2D plan scanning works on the mobile app with iPhone Pro and Pro Max models.
Key Points
- iPhone Pro
- One level at a time (one plan per floor)
- Furniture does not interfere with plan creation
- You can scan room by room or the entire floor at once.
Step 1 — Launch “Create a 2D Plan” in the App
After creating a property on the mobile app, tap on "Create a 2D plan."

On first launch, the app displays scan tips (room by room, passing through doors, slow movements, lighting, windows).
Step 2 — Scan the Rooms (Furniture Included)
To create a 2D plan with IACrea, gently sweep the room with your phone, allowing the app to detect walls, doors, and windows. The goal is for the bright white lines to follow the ceiling edges, floor, and corner of walls. They should also surround windows and doors.
No need to clear the living room: furniture against the walls doesn't distort the plan
Furniture Is Not a Problem
Furniture: sofa against the wall, bed, sideboard, etc., do not interfere with the scan. The system reconstructs partitions even when furniture covers part of the lower walls.
However, it is recommended to slow down when approaching windows (the glass can sometimes be less accurately detected) and avoid aiming steadily at mirrors, as they can distort depth perception.
If a window or door isn't detected, you can always add it later once the plan is generated.
Room by Room, or All at Once?
Both options are possible:
- Room by room — Finish scanning a room, name it (living room, kitchen, bedroom…), then tap “Add a room.” Continue scanning the new room. The relative placement of volumes remains consistent.
- All at once in a single scan — You can keep scanning different rooms without closing the app.
In both cases, the “Finish” button finalizes the assembly when you've completed the scan. You can also choose “Redo this room” if a volume was missed, without losing the entire scan.
Step 3 — One Plan per Floor
Mixing two levels in a single scan results in an unreadable plan (rooms stacked or incorrectly assembled).
Make sure to create separate plans for each floor.
Step 4 — Preview, Save, and Return to the Website
After scanning, the app immediately shows a preview: total area and plan. The plan syncs with the property, accessible in your online workspace, where you can modify details (information display, add windows, move walls, etc.)
The resulting plan
One in five buyers ignores a listing without a plan (Rightmove): providing a plan for each property is a real differentiator and highlight.
Step 5 — Edit the Plan on the Website (Walls, Doors, Dimensions)
The web editor allows fine-tuning the plan. You can modify displayed information (dimensions, logo, etc.), but also change labels, add doors, windows, and more. Everything is editable.
You can also clone the plan to showcase different layouts.

Common Errors (and How to Avoid Them)
Closing the app between rooms — the relative assembly is lost. Keep the app open while adding the rooms on the same floor.
Two floors in one scan — restart with separate plans for each level.
Scanning too quickly — the bright lines should stay on the floor and ceiling.
FAQ
Do I need to clear the room before creating a 2D plan with IACrea?
No. Furniture blocking walls doesn’t prevent the scan: the system rebuilds the partitions behind. Just avoid mirrors and large glass surfaces that can distort depth, and move slowly near corners.
Can I scan the entire apartment in one go?
Yes, you can proceed room by room in the same scan or do each separately before finalizing. However, always separate floors: one 2D plan per level (ground floor, upstairs, basement). Do not mix two levels in a single scan.
Where to find the plan after scan on iPhone Pro?
The plan is linked to the property in your IACrea account. On iacrea.com, open the relevant project, and the plan will be in your media files.
What can I modify in the web editor of the 2D plan?
You can move and adjust walls, correct doors and windows, rename rooms, refine dimensions, export the image, and more.
What hardware is needed to create a 2D plan with the IACrea app?
An iPhone Pro, starting from iPhone 12 Pro.
